Since 1996

Clos Quebrada de Macul is a unique, hillside vineyard nestled on the eastern edge of Santiago, where the Andes cast their morning light on vines planted in 1970—long before Chile turned its eyes to these demanding slopes. Here, Cabernet Sauvignon thrives alongside small parcels of Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc, in a vineyard that once provided the country’s most sought-after fruit to top wineries.

The story took a bold turn when Isabelle and Ricardo Peña, guided by the vision of renowned winemaker Ignacio Recabarren and the support of a U.S. partner, decided to bottle their own expression of the site.

The result was Domus Aurea, a wine born from precision, patience, and profound respect for the land.

Since its inaugural vintage in 1996, Domus Aurea has stood apart—crafted in small quantities, shaped by low yields, and defined by a non-interventionist approach that lets the vineyard speak. In 2003, Jean-Pascal Lacaze joined the project, bringing a quiet intensity and deep-rooted understanding of terroir that have helped elevate Domus to international acclaim.

More than a wine, Domus Aurea is a testament to the legacy of a place—and the people who believe in its timeless potential.
